This guide provides information for law enforcement and government agencies seeking information about anim8 users or simulation data.
anim8 is operated by 2Social. We value user privacy but will cooperate with law enforcement when legally required to do so. This guide applies to data requests related to the web app, mobile builds, and all store versions.
Because anim8 uses Discord for authentication, we do not store passwords or real names. Our primary data consists of Discord IDs, simulation post history, and character metadata. We do not store IP logs for extended periods of time, and we cannot provide information that we do not have. If a user deletes their universe or account, the data is typically purged from our active databases immediately.
We only disclose non public user information in response to valid legal process, such as a subpoena, court order, or search warrant. Emergency requests involving a threat of imminent death or serious physical injury may be processed faster if verified by a legitimate law enforcement official.
All legal requests must be sent to [email protected]. Requests must be on official government letterhead and include:
It is our policy to notify users of requests for their data unless we are prohibited from doing so by a non disclosure order or in cases of extreme emergency involving physical safety.
For authorities outside of the United States, we require requests to be made through appropriate legal channels, such as a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) or letters rogatory, depending on the jurisdiction.
