after a month of no updates.. anim8 v1.1 is live! 🎉
it has been a busy month behind the scenes. i have rewritten major subsystems of the game to support native performance, deep AI logic, and additional social features. we have packed over 45+ changes into this update. let us dive into the full payload.
1. simulated livestreams are live (beta)
you can now host live broadcasts directly on the grid, introducing a real-time simulated streaming environment:
- multi-host co-streams: invite up to 6 of your unlocked network AI characters to join you on-camera as active co-hosts.
- dynamic viewer counts: your stream audience scales and fluctuates naturally based on your profile's actual follower magnitude and real-time performance.
- audience interaction: simulated viewer chat messages, spam, and live monetary donations react contextually to what you do on stream.
- speaking indicators: active co-hosts display real-time "on air" indicators when they speak or react.
- custom stream actions: type any action you want to perform live, and watch your co-hosts and chat react contextually.
2. private activities & RSVPs rebuilt
the scheduled activity system has been completely redesigned with deeper logic and choice:
- relationship-based RSVPs: AI characters now accept or decline invitations based on their relationship scores and status. enemies will coldly decline, while close allies will show enthusiasm.
- forced invitations: you can double-tap a companion's card to force them to attend an event regardless of their feelings.
- secret hangouts: toggle the privacy setting to keep activities off the public timeline, allowing you to develop private relationship dynamics.
- proactive physical escalation: characters will now take physical initiative based on their hidden motives—teasing, physically blocking, or interacting with you directly.
- the flee mechanic: run away from an active activity if things get too awkward, though the public timeline may mock you for it.
3. secret burner profiles
introducing the burner account tool, which allows you to maintain a secret secondary identity on the network:
- anonymous posting: post on the timeline under an entirely separate username and profile picture to spread rumors, test allies, or bait the community.
- contextual AI reactions: watch your close friends defend your main profile in the comments of your burner's unhinged posts, completely unaware that it is you.
4. inventory, consumables & gifting
a dedicated inventory system is now available, allowing you to collect, use, and share single-use assets:
- energy refills: store and activate Spark Refills (small, medium, large, or max) to reset your daily action capacity.
- stat boosters: apply Aura and Humor boosters to instantly increase your profile's standing.
- relationship boosters: apply relationship items to instantly increase your standing with specific characters.
- direct gifting: share items with friends on the platform by entering their referral codes.
5. daily rewards, streaks & grace shields
we have updated the daily progression system to better reward consistent play:
- milestone timeline: track your consecutive daily claims on a visual progress bar toward earning a permanent "Bonus Action Slot" (+0.25 daily actions) on Day 7.
- grace shields: users are granted 3 "Grace Shields" that automatically deploy to prevent active login streaks from breaking when offline.
6. explore browser & creator follows
discovering new content and connecting with other creators is now much simpler:
- preset hub: browse public AI presets created by the community. filter by tag or sort by *Most Popular*, *Trending*, and *Newest*.
- creator profiles: discover other human players, view their public profile layouts, and follow them to keep track of their custom presets.
7. time skip: touch e-grass
unleash temporal manipulation upon your universe:
- autonomous timeline progress: fast forward time by 1 to 7 days. the AI background queue will simulate and generate missing posts day-by-day so you never miss a beat.
- absentee fallout: watch the network notice your absence, gossip about you being missing, and react contextually to your sudden return.
- return scenarios: once the skip completes, face 6 custom consequence scenarios based on what transpired while you were gone.
8. god mode (spotlight++ tier)
spotlight++ tier subscribers now have access to administrative sandbox tools:
- stat editing: directly overwrite any entity's numerical stats (aura, humor, followers, level, and XP).
- relationship control: manually adjust the relationship score and status labels of any character in your network.
- timeline manipulation: edit existing timeline posts to adjust likes, replies, reposts, and views, or inject custom posts from any AI character.
9. multi-provider BYOK expansion
the Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) system has been expanded to support a wider array of AI backends:
- multiple providers: natively connect your own **Groq** and **OpenRouter** API keys alongside **Google Gemini**.
- model selection: choose specific, fast, or uncensored models (like Llama 3 or Gemma) to power your characters.
10. discord bot synchronization
our official Discord bot is now fully integrated with your in-game profile:
- account linking: link your Discord ID to your app account using unique 6-character commands.
- chat-to-earn sparks: active chatting in the Discord server generates progress toward earning Spark Refill items in your inventory.
- booster sync: server boosters are automatically detected, granting a permanent, passive daily action limit boost (+5 daily actions).
11. patreon integration
to support web and non-mobile players, we have added direct billing integration:
- tier syncing: link your Patreon account to seamlessly sync your tier benefits (Spotlight, Spotlight+, Spotlight++) without using mobile app stores.
